Project Title: "Mi identidad, Mi Huella" (My Identity, My Trace) – Genderless Garment Development
Project Description:
This project explores the intersection between identity, gender, and fashion through the design of a genderless look titled “Mi Identidad, Mi Huella” (My Identity, My Trace). The concept investigates how clothing can be liberated from binary structures, and instead used as a medium for personal freedom and self-expression.
The work was inspired by the uniqueness of human fingerprints—symbols of identity that are unrepeatable and universal. The garments feature hand-printed rainbow fingerprints on linen and mesh, highlighting individuality within a shared human condition. The tailored deconstruction and pleated inserts merge traditional suiting with symbolic surface treatment.
Pattern cutting was central to this project. The oversized coat and wide-leg trousers were drafted for a non-gendered body using ergonomic and inclusive design principles. Attention was placed on movement, layering, and internal construction. A fully finished toile and final garment were presented at Argentina Fashion Week, demonstrating both the creative and technical outcome of the design process.
